COSCO Shipping Corp. will but 14 new vessels, including 6 so-called mega-vessels, with a total order value of about $ 178 billion and deliveries planned over the next 2 years.
The total number of TEUs these orders will add to COSCO’s fleet is unknown at this point, but 33 containerships currently on order by COSCO Shipping Lines, the container shipping company of the COSCO Group, will add about 500,000 TEU to its total 1.64 million TEY fleet.
