In an Executive Order issued from the White House and a CSMS message from US CBP, on July 31st, the IEEPA Fentanyl/Border Tariff for Canada is increasing from 25% to 35% effective August 1st.
USMCA qualifying goods are still exempt from the 35% IEEPA Fentanyl/Border duties.
Goods found by US CBP to have transshipped to evade the 35% tariff will be subject to a 40% tariff and any associated fines or penalties.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available. Please contact your V.
