The July 9th reciprocal tariff deadline, which would have seen an increase of all country specific tariffs rates (except for China), has been delayed until August 1st in an Executive Order issued yesterday afternoon.
July 7th saw a flurry of activity on President Trump’s Truth Social page as he posted snapshots of letters to various countries outlining the expected reciprocal tariffs they could expect if a trade deal was not reached by August 1st.
The Executive Order followed the Truth Social postings several hours later, indicating the extension for all Annex I countries, with the exception of China. China’s 90-day pause remains unaffected, set to expire on August 12th, though there has been considerable buzz around a trade deal between the two trade giants.
We will continue to provide updates as they are made available.
