Customs and Border Protection (CBP) last night confirmed that the Commerce Secretary has certified collection of the 25% import duty on certain imports of steel and aluminum articles and all derivatives from all countries, effective 12:01 a.m. ET on Wednesday, March 12. The notice from Commerce can be found at the following link: 2025-04210.pdf
This caught everyone off guard as they had been given 90 days to do this. The Federal Register Notice is expected to be issued on March 14.
