USTR Announces Changes to Import Tariffs on Certain Sec 301 EU Goods
Posted on Feb 18
The USTR is updating the list of European Union goods subject to additional tariffs in the long-going aircraft subsidy dispute, and is also increasing the additional tariff on large civil aircraft. These changes will take effect March 5 and March 18, respectively. On Friday, February 14th, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) announced modifications to the Section 301 EU tariffs on approximately $7.5 billion worth of European Union (EU) products that originally went into effect on October 18th, 2019. The USTR will soon advise importers to prepare for the imposition of 25% tariffs on certain EU products, in addition to a 5% tariff increase on EU aircrafts (from 10% to 15%).
The complete list of EU goods that faced the additional tariff effective October 18, 2019 can be found here, and you can view the list of EU products, applicable duty rate and specific EU member States affected by these recent revisions by clicking here.
