The U.S. Department of Commerce issued a fact sheet on January 15, 2026, detailing the US and Taiwan trade agreement.
Of note Taiwan will have an “all-in” reciprocal rate of 15%, similar to other countries that have reached “all-in” reciprocal rate deals with the U.S.
Section 232 duties for auto parts, timber, lumber, and wood derivative products will total no more than 15%.
There will be no IEEPA Reciprocal tariffs on generic pharmaceuticals, their generic ingredients, aircraft components, and unavailable natural resources.
Specific dates for implementation and new US HTS chapter 99 numbers have yet to be shared. Publication of the trade agreement and its implementation is still pending in the Federal Register.
We will continue to monitor developments regarding this and will provide updates as necessary. For further inquiries, you may reach out to your V.
