President Trump issued a statement late into the evening on October 23rd that all trade negotiations with Canada are terminated.
The morning of October 24th the President issued another statement, further reinforcing his position on the matter.
Both statements are a result of an ad the Ontario government ran with quotes from former U.S. President Ronald Reagan, of which the statements are strung together.
The full address from President Reagan can be viewed here.
