The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security has issued a Public Inspection Document to be published in the Federal Register on August 19, 2025, that will add over 400 new HTS codes to the list of steel and aluminum derivatives subject to Sec 232 duties.
The Public Inspection Document can be viewed here.
The impacted HTS codes will be subject to the new duties starting at 12:01 a.m. EST on Aug 18, 2025.
Additions include to the 8th and 10th digit levels across a wide range of commodities. This is just the latest round of additions since the Sec 232 inclusion process was established back in May, with the next window for inclusion requests set to begin in September.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available. Please contact your V.
