In a CSMS message issued on June 13, 2025, (CSMS # 65340246) US CBP outlined the smelt and cast country reporting requirements for aluminum products subject to the Sec 232 duties.
For products where the aluminum country of smelt or cast is unknown a duty rate of 200% will be applied to that entry summary line. This is the Russia rate for aluminum, as opposed to the current 50% duty rate for countries other than Russia.
This change is effective for imports on June 28, 2025.
