Failed negations have led to the stoppage of service from the CN and CPKS last night. The two parties are still at the bargaining table despite the lockout.
“This decision to halt operations in a planned and phased approach was made to ensure the safety of the network and the communities in which we operate. It is not a decision that was taken lightly. It does, however, enable us to ensure a safe and orderly shutdown and optimize the eventual resumption of services once the labour disruption has ended,” CN said.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as needed.
