The International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) on Aug. 31 announced that the membership overwhelmingly voted (approximately 75 percent) to ratify the new contract with the Pacific Maritime Association (PMA). The new six-year deal expires July 1, 2028.
According to the union, voting results were certified on Aug. 31 by the ILWU’s Coast Balloting Committee, which was chosen by Coast Longshore Division Caucus delegates elected from each of the 29 West Coast ports.
