Isaias has moved away from the US into Canada and is no longer a threat for the US East Ports, which all are open and operating on normal schedules.

Small delays due to the closures over the last few days have to expected.

Additional Update for the Ports of New York/New Jersey:

Due to inclement weather and tropical storm conditions, the follow port terminals in New York and New Jersey have closed for the day.

These closures will cause potential delays in cargo availability as well as IPI departures.

– GCT New York closed inbound gate at 11:00 AM
– GCT Bayonne closed inbound gate at 12:00 PM
– PNCT

Single move for dry containers: 12:00 PM closure
Double moves and reefers: 11:00 AM closure

– AMP closed 11:00 AM
– Maher Terminals closed inbound gate operations at 11:30 AM

Additional Updates for the Virginia Ports:

The U.S. Coast Guard (USCG), Captain of the Port, has declared port condition YANKEE for Hampton Roads, meaning sustained gale force winds are expected at the Virginia Capes within 24 hours.

At 1200 hours on Tuesday, Aug. 4, port operations will resume (vessel/rail/truck).

From Aug. 4 – 7 (four days), truck gates at NIT, VIG, PPCY, RSA and PCY will remain open one hour later than published schedules

Isaias has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm.

The National Hurricane Center advises as of 11:00 EDT today:
> CENTER OF ISAIAS MOVING RAPIDLY ACROSS EASTERN MARYLAND / STRONG WINDS, HEAVY RAINFALL AND TORNADOES WILL CONTINUE TO SPREAD NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD ALONG THE MID-ATLANTIC COAST TODAY.
> The Tropical Storm Warning has been discontinued south of Duck, North Carolina, including the Pamlico and Albemarle Sounds.
> A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for North of Duck North Carolina to Eastport Maine, Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, Delaware Bay, Long Island and Long Island Sound, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, and Block Islan

Port Status Updates:
Florida Ports: Miami, Port Everglades, Fort Pierce and Jacksonville are all open without restrictions.
Georgia Ports: Savannah and Brunswick remain open.
South Carolina Ports: Charleston, Greer and Dillon are operating normally for gates and vessels.
North Carolina Ports: Wilmington Container Terminal open to full service & General Cargo open to receipt of cargo only. Morehead City open to all activity.
Virginia Ports: The Port of Virginia website is currently down
Maryland Ports: Seagirt Marine Terminal and Ports America Chesapeake operations at Dundalk Marine Terminal are closed today. Other Dundalk terminal operators and public marine terminals will be open. Coast Guard Sector Maryland has set Port Condition Zulu.
Pennsylvania Ports: All PhilaPort terminals remain open and operating as normal.
New York/New Jersey Ports: Ports are currently open. A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect until early 8/5.

Additional Updates:

National Hurricane Center: ISAIAS STILL EXPECTED TO MAKE LANDFALL TONIGHT AS A HURRICANE / STRONG WINDS AND HEAVY RAINFALL LIKELY FROM THE EASTERN CAROLINAS TO THE MID-ATLANTIC COAST TONIGHT AND TUESDAY

North Carolina Ports: The Port of Wilmington and the Port of Morehead City are currently at Port Condition Zulu. Based on the latest track of Isaias, cargo operations at the Ports of Wilmington and Morehead City will operate on a delayed start Tuesday, August 4. NC Ports anticipates opening all gates at both ports to commercial activity at 1300.

The National Hurricane Center advises that tropical storm Isaias is passing well offshore the Northeast Florida Coast but forecasts that it redevelops into a hurricane later today again.

Port conditions on the East Coast are reported as follows:

Florida Ports: The U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port Sector Miami has downgraded the Port of Miami, Miami River and Port Everglades from Port Condition Zulu to Seasonal Readiness. The ports are open as usual.
Effective 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 1, the U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port has set Port Condition Yankee for the Port of Jacksonville due to the possibility of sustained tropical force winds of 39-73 mph generated by Hurricane Isaias arriving within 24 hours. The port is currently open.
Georgia Ports: GPA ports of Savannah and Brunswick remain open. The US Coast Guard will continue to monitor the weather and adjust port conditions as appropriate.
South Carolina Ports: The SCPA ports will have normal operating hours at all terminals on August 3, on Tuesday, August 4, operating hours will begin at 0800 for all Charleston Marine Terminals and the South Carolina Inland Port Dillon. The South Carolina Inland Port in Greer will maintain normal operating hours on Tuesday, August 4.
North Carolina Ports: Monday, August 3, Port of Wilmington’s Container Gate will be open from 0700 until 1200 to receive loads and empties. No empties will be delivered, loaded containers only. The General Cargo Gate will be closed to all commercial activity.
Port of Morehead City will be closed to all commercial activity on Monday, August 3. The decision about operations on Tuesday, 8/4, will be made Monday afternoon.
Virginia Ports: At 0800 hours tomorrow, Monday, Aug. 3, the USCG, Captain of the Port, will declare port condition YANKEE for Hampton Roads, meaning sustained gale force winds are expected at the Virginia Capes within 24 hours. Inbound and outbound vessel traffic will continue, without interruption
All Port of Virginia terminals, facilities and offices will open and operate, per standard schedules, on Monday, Aug. 3

Tropical storm Isaias has strengthened into a Category 1 Hurricane overnight and is expected to hit the Bahamas Friday with torrential rains and high winds before taking aim at eastern Florida where it is expected to arrive on Saturday and Sunday.

The east coast of Florida is under hurricane watch from Deerfield Beach to the Volusia-Brevard County line, according to the National Hurricane Center.

Coastal ports have so far provided the following information:

Port of Miami: PortMiami is monitoring Tropical Storm Isaias. PortMiami is open for business and conducting Port operations. USCG Captain of the Port has established PortMiami at condition YANKEE.
Port of Jacksonville: Effective 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 31, the Coast Guard Captain of the Port will set Port Condition X-ray for the Port of Jacksonville due to the possibility of sustained tropical force winds of 39-73 mph generated by Hurricane Isaias arriving within 48 hours. The port and its facilities are currently open to all commercial traffic and all transfer operations may continue while X-ray remains in effect.
Port of Savannah: no information posted yet
Port of Charleston: SC Ports in Charleston, Greer and Dillon are operating normally for gates and vessels.
Port of Wilmington: The Port of Wilmington and the Port of Morehead City anticipate moving to Port Condition X-Ray at 2000 Saturday, August 1. A decision about port operations for Monday, August 3 will be issued over the weekend based on the latest weather forecast.

Port Conditions Index:
PORT CONDITION X-RAY: Gale force winds are predicted to arrive within 48 hours. Port Status: Open to all commercial and recreational traffic.
PORT CONDITION YANKEE: Gale force winds are predicted to arrive within 24 hours. Ports status: Closed to inbound traffic and vessel traffic control measures in effect on vessel movements within the port.
