ALERT > Port of Houston To Resume Operations At Bayport And Barbours Cut Terminals On Friday

After a thorough investigation at the affected terminals The Port Authority advises that the affected terminals will reopen for vessel operation only today at 19:00 and regular business on Friday morning.

After a case of COVID-19 was detected at both Bayport And Barbours Cut Terminals the Port Authority in Houston has suspended operations at both terminals until further notice.
The Port Authority’s other public facilities remain open, and the Houston Ship Channel and the 200-plus private terminals that comprise the greater Port of Houston are also still operating.
The Port Authority advises on its website that “All decisions on vessel schedules, demurrage, and all others will be determined as soon as possible. All updates will be communicated as often as possible.”
This will certainly cause some issues with cargo at these terminals, but the full impact of the measures has not been determined yet.
Please contact your V. Alexander Account Team for updates on your cargo moving through these terminals, and follow our website for further developments.
