Tariffs On Steel From Turkey Increase To 50%
Posted on Oct 17
Following the withdrawal of US troops from Syria and the subsequent military action taken by Turkey President Trump announced that Section 232 tariffs on imports of Turkish steel would be immediately increased to 50% to dissuade Turkey from undertaking further “destabilizing actions in northeast Syria” and that all trade negotiations with Turkey will be halted with immediate effect.
Further economic sanctions might follow depending on Turkey’s further actions.
