Hong Kong – Flight Cancellations
Posted on Aug 14
UPDATE 08/14/2019
Hong Kong’s airport started to reschedule flights today in hopes to stabilize its operations after the disruptions caused by protests over the last two days.
Cargo flights were not greatly affected by the protests over the last two days but several flights were cancelled today as part of the overall rescheduling operation at the airport.
Cargo booked on passenger planes mostly suffered delays and might be further delayed until the airport has re-established regular operation schedules.
Your V. Alexander Import Team will advise of any delays to affected cargo, and we will monitor the situation closely.

UPDATE 08/13/2019
Media outlets report that Hong Kong’s airport suspended flights for a second day, with hundreds of protesters again disrupting operations in the passenger terminals.
Regarding cargo operations our partners in Hong Kong advise that
> Cargo operation at the airport in Hong Kong has opened up again and is slowly getting back to being fully operational again
> cargo flights have resumed back to normal schedules, while passenger flights are still being affected by the protests
> due to the flight cancellations yesterday some cargo had to be rebooked and might not move out of HKG right away
It is unclear how the situation will develop further and if cargo operations will again be affected by the protests.
Your V. Alexander Import Team will advise of any delays to affected cargo, and we will monitor the situation closely.

Although air cargo operations are unaffected and freighter flights seem to move on schedule, any freight booked on passenger flights will be affected by this situation, and delays have to be expected.
At this time it is not known when flight operations will resume.
