Traffic Issues At Wando Terminal In Charleston SC
Posted on May 17
The Wando River Bridge in Charleston will be closed for 4 weeks as a broken cable is being repaired. The bridge is a crucial piece of infrastructure and the closing will impact traffic in Charleston heavily, including cargo moves out of the port terminals.Gate hours at the terminals in Charleston have been extended, allowing for Saturday and Sunday operations and for longer operation during the week. However, delays have to be expected, and trucking companies charge additional fees for service to and from the affected terminals in the port to accommodate for driver delays of up to 2 hours against normal operation.Your V. Alexander Team will advise any potential delays for your cargo, and we will monitor the situation to report any developments as soon as we become aware of them.
