Ports of NY/NJ Set Monthly Cargo Volume Record for November

The Ports of New York/New Jersey handled 566,519 TEUs (323,290 containers in total) of containerized cargo for the month, 6.8% more than the previous best November on record.
285,070 TEUs of this volume were import volume, an increase of 4.9%, and 128,760 TEUs were export loads, an increase of 12.1% (all increases over November 2016).
Through the first 11 months of calendar year 2017 the Ports handled 6.16 million TEUs. They remain on pace to set new all-time records for cargo volume, being 7.1% ahead of 2016 and 5% ahead of the previous annual record, set in 2015.
