Cyclone Mora Hits Bangladesh
Posted on May 30
Tropical Cyclone Mora made landfall along the southeastern coast of Bangladesh Tuesday morning, just south of the Port of Chittagong.
The storm now heads inland, and heavy rainfall will continue that is expected to result in flooding and mudslides in Bangladesh, northeast India and western Myanmar.
Port operations in the Port of Mongla were suspended Monday and were scheduled to resume Tuesday at 3:00 pm local time (5:00 am EDT), while operations at the Port of Chittagong remained suspended as of that time Tuesday. Flight operations at Chittagong Shah Amnat International Airport were to resume an hour earlier.
Some cargo delays are to be expected.
