Strike Threat In Indian Ports (Updated)

The dockworkers unions in India have postponed their planned nationwide strike from April 19, 2017 to May 12, 2017.
Union representatives will have another round of negotiations with the Port Authorities today in an attempt to reach a settlement that would avert a strike altogether.

Dockworkers unions in India are calling for a nationwide strike beginning on April 19 in order to force the government to make changes to the recently enacted bill that restructures the country’s port administrative system.
An official strike notice has been delivered to port authorities and the Indian Ministry of Shipping.
