Dockworkers unions in India are calling for a nationwide strike beginning on April 19 in order to force the government to make changes to the recently enacted bill that restructures the country’s port administrative system.
An official strike notice has been delivered to port authorities and the Indian Ministry of Shipping.
The government is expected to meet with union officials to discuss how to avert the strike.
