Hanjin Shipping Bankruptcy
Posted on Sep 1
Hanjin Shipping, the world’s seventh largest container line, announced they are filing for bankruptcy.
At this time, complete details of the impact and the full effect of the bankruptcy are yet to be known. Presently, V. Alexander is identifying all freight currently moving on Hanjin Shipping and the CKYHE Alliance and notifying customers accordingly. In addition, no new bookings have been placed on Hanjin or their ships through alliance partners.
V. Alexander will work closely with clients to re-route freight and minimize delays as much as possible. As details emerge for the way ports, rail, and truckers will handle Hanjin containers, we will keep everyone notified of these updates.
At this time, there are many scenarios that we simply don’t know the answer to. We will continue to closely follow the situation and keep the communication lines open.
