International Launch Services (ILS)

Before International Launch Services (ILS) can launch commercial satellites into space, they turn to V. Alexander & Co., Inc. to help them accomplish part of their mission.

ILS is a U.S. based company with exclusive rights for worldwide commercial sales and mission management of satellite launches on Russia's premier vehicle, the Proton. The Proton vehicle launches both commercial ILS missions and Russian government payloads from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan. DIRECTV, Sirius Satellite Radio and EchoStar/DISH Network are some of ILS’s numerous satisfied customers.

Prior to each launch campaign in Baikonur, ILS, based in Reston, Virginia, uses V. Alexander’s services to handle all of their shipping and logistics needs to export and import cargo to/from various locations worldwide. Due to the nature of their business, ILS exports and imports ITAR components on a consistent basis as well as commercial components regulated under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

V. Alexander & Co., Inc. is registered by the United States Department of State, Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, and Office of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) to export, or temporarily import defense articles and/or provide defense service consultation and guidance to its customers pursuant to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) under 22 CFR 120-130 and the Arms Export Control Act. Likewise, V. Alexander exercises the proper procedures to comply with the United States Department of Commerce, Bureau of industry and Security, Export Administration Regulations (EAR) under 15 CFR various Parts.

V. Alexander also offers ILS Antonov 124 shipments and personnel charters upon request. They handle the import brokerage services including, but not limited to, import clearance duties, pickup from airports, and on time delivery.
