For the purpose of ensuring the smooth progress of the national customs clearance integration, strengthening the administration of the import and export cargo entering and leaving China, improving the integrity and accuracy of the manifest data, and implementing the safety entry and risk prevention, China Customs Authorities has released Order No.56 (2017) which will adjust the China Customs Advanced Manifest requirements for both import and export shipments.

Please note the new order is for both air and ocean shipments and will be effective on June 1, 2018.

Additional data requirements have been placed on both the consignor and consignee of the goods. The most significant change is that the U.S. consignee or consignor of the goods shipping to or from China must include their EIN (Federal Tax ID) with the manifest data filed with China Customs prior to export or arrival of the goods.

On your behalf, we will provide your EIN number to our authorized V. Alexander agents in China so that your shipments remain compliant with all China applicable rules and regulations, and to ensure the timely movement of your cargo. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your V. Alexander account team.
